ITINERARY

Day 1 - August 7, 2023 <~~~ choose any date, this is a private tour Home - Lima

Take your international flight to Peru. This is usually a day flight arriving in the evening. Upon arrival at the Lima international airport,reception by our guide (look for a sign with your name on it) and enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. Welcome to Peru!

Day 2 - August 8, 2023 Lima

After breakfast, meet your private guide for a tour of the city, exploring the colonial and the modern parts of Lima, including LarcoMuseum. You will visit the modern and colonial parts of Lima, known as The City of Kings, starting at the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, and passing along a “huaca” or sacred

pre-Inca site, before heading to the Historic Center. There, you will walk along some of the most historically important streets of thecity, leading to the Plaza de Armas, where you will have some time to take pictures of the amazing colonial architecture that surrounds it.

 

Then enjoy an afternoon tasting tour of the best flavors in Lima! We start with a traditional Peruvian lunch of dishes with a twistalongside the pre-Incan ruins of the Huaca Pucllana, enjoy a lush garden stop amid an eclectic mix of art and architecture for a local chef's signature dishes, enjoy a seaside Pisco cocktail and fresh Peruvian flavors at sunset, end with a starlit walk in bohemian Barranco.

Day 3 - August 9, 2023

Lima - Cuzco - Sacred Valley

After breakfast, private transfer back to the airport to take your flight to Cusco, less than an hour long. Upon landing, reception andenjoy a scenic ride to the Sacred Valley. We will spend time in the valley to acclimate easier.

En route to your hotel, enjoy a panoramic visit of the Maras salt mines, where the finest salt in the world is extracted: Maras salt. Then, you will head to Moray, a fascinating archaeological site in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will visit its huge concentric terraces, which the Incas used as a botanical laboratory.

Afterwards, enjoy a traditional lunch. Then check into your hotel and rest.

Day 4 - August 10, 2023 Sacred Valley

After breakfast, meet with your private guide again and head towards the town of Pisac. Before arriving,you will make a stop at theTaray viewpoint, where you will have an unbeatable view of the area. Once in Pisac, you will visit the ruins overlooking the Vilcanota River, which will amaze you for its fascinating architecture. Then, you will visit the colorful market of Pisac, where you will find various products of the area. Afterwards we continue to a restaurant in Urubamba, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch.

This afternoon, we visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo, military, religious and agricultural center of the Incas, located on top of amountain. Afterwards, you will visit the town of the same name -which maintains the urban planning from Inca times- where you can walk through the picturesque streets and shop at the market. Return to hotel and rest.

Day 5 - August 11, 2023 Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu 

Breakfast at the hotel, then at the scheduled time, you will be transferred from your hotel to the Ollantaytambo train station. Enjoy thebeautiful Vistadome Train to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, meet your guide and enjoy the ruins together!

You will visit one of the most important tourist destinations in the world: Machu Picchu. Your excursion starts aboard a train towards the town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. The natural beauty of the surroundings makes the train ride thebest way to start your visit. Once you arrive, you will begin the ascent to the ruins. This visit will, without a doubt, be one of your most memorable experiences. After you reach the top, you will take a tour of Machu Picchu, learning the history and mysteries of one of the Seven Wonders of the World. And, with amazing sceneries all around, you will surely have more than one spectacular photo-op. Then, it’sback to Aguas Calientes. Lunch included, and tonight, dinner at your hotel.

Day 6 - August 12, 2023 Machu Picchu - Cuzco 

This morning, meet with your guide to return to the ruins for a sunrise return to the ruins. You have the opportunity toclimb up to Mount Huayna Picchu (2490 meters), Quechua for “Young Mountain”, on the eastern side of the Central Cordillera. The trail is steep and parts of it include several section of stone staircases carved directly into the mountainside. If you prefer a softer hike, we can enjoy a stroll to the Sun Gate, the start of the famous Inca Trail. Your guide will accommodate your needs accordingly. 

At the end of the visit, you will board the shuttle that will take you back to Aguas Calientes, where we can enjoy free time around the streets of this picturesque town before we board the train back to Cuzco. Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 7 - August 13, 2023 Cuzco

Day to sleep in. You deserve it!

 

This afternoon, City Tour Cusco, with San Pedro market and nearby archaeological sites. Meet your local guide to explore Cuzcotogether - You will visit the city of Cusco, known as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here you will start your tour at the iconic San Pedro market, a local market where you can explore the colors, flavors and traditions of modernCusco. The visit continues with the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and cult center of the Sun God, above which the order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains standing to this day. You will continue ascending to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Afterwards, you will explore Q’enqo archeological site, where important Inca ceremonies took place. Finally, you will arrive to the Plaza de Armas(main square), where you will visit the Cathedral, the most important temple in the city.

Tonight dinner at Cicciolina, one of the best restaurants in the city.

Day 8 - August 14, 2023 Cuzco - Rainbow Mountain 

RAINBOW MOUNTAIN HIKE (or Palccoyo) - private tour from 4am - 4pm

You will leave your hotel in Cusco early in the morning, crossing the South Valley, towards Cusipata. From there, you will be transferred to Phulawasipata where you will begin your walk. After some time to prepare, you will start with the ascending route toVinicunca, the Rainbow Mountain. The place will amaze you with its vivid colors and natural beauty. There, you will have time to take photos and fill yourself with the energy of the place. Depending on time, you might continue your walk towards the Red Valley, where you will appreciate a beautiful landscape of mountains of red dirt. There, you will also have time to appreciate the place and take photos. At the end of this visit, you will walk back to the starting point.

Finally, you will be taken back to your hotel in Cusco, stopping along the route for lunch at a local restaurant.

Day 9 - August 15, 2023 Cuzco - Lima - Home

At the appropriate time, private transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima, and here connect with your flight home.
